La UÑA es una estructura muy compleja, cumple diversas funciones en nosotros y aporta de manera continua información sobre el exterior (temperatura, humedad, presión, etc).
Esto se debe a que existe mayor cantidad de nervios sensitivos en estas zonas de los dedos, convirtiéndola en una zona muy importante y sensible al mismo tiempo ya que cualquier alteración en torno a ésta genera dolor, creando incluso una respuesta exagerada, sobre todo en los pies, por su localización y función dentro de los mismos.
Existen diversas afecciones de las uñas, unas hereditarias o genéticas y otras adquiridas.
